Ruthanne worked most of her professional career at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the Department of Pathology where she taught in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Program. She held a position as Compliance and Accreditation Coordinator and assisted the Department of Pathology laboratories and special function laboratories in their preparations for JCAHO, CAP, and/or CLIA inspections. She is a consultant for physician office laboratories.
